About Me

My Carnivore Journey

Hello, I'm Blaise!

I grew up believing what I was told without question: eat your vegetables, cut the fat off your meat, and be careful red meat causes heart attacks. These beliefs shaped how I ate, even when my body was quietly protesting. After eating fruits, vegetables, or carbohydrates, I felt fatigue, bloating, and a heaviness that made it hard to get through the day. For years, I assumed this was normal.

From the age of two, I lived in eight different countries. Each place had its own food culture—most of them heavily carbohydrate-based. Yet no matter where I lived, I gravitated toward animal-based foods and fat. In Kyiv, it was smoked salmon and salo. In Turkey, döner kebab and sucuk. In Morocco, lamb. In Germany, schnitzel and hamburgers. In Nassau, where access to quality meat was limited, I found myself eating KFC and conch fritter.

During the pandemic in Abu Dhabi, the symptoms that I had since 11 years old became impossible to ignore: bloating, fatigue, low energy, insomnia, and brain fog. I searched for answers, trying to understand why I felt this way despite following conventional dietary advice embraced by many medical professionals.

That’s when I began researching on my own and discovered fasting and the carnivore diet. I started fasting, first for 24 hours, then 48, then 72 hours, then up to 9 days, and something shifted. I felt clear, steady, and energized like my body had finally been given space to reset.

I later transitioned back to intermittent fasting and eating full carnivore. For the first time in my life, the fatigue lifted. My sleep improved. The bloating disappeared. I felt present in my body again.

I understand that the carnivore diet is not widely accepted, and I don’t believe nutrition is one-size-fits-all. What this journey taught me is simple: health is personal. When I later studied molecular biology and human anatomy, I began to understand the biological reasons why this ancestral way of eating works so well for me. Listening to your body and being willing to question long-held assumptions can be transformative and life changing for the better.

The Science Behind Carnivore Diet

An interview with Blaise V on the “Protecting Your NEST with Dr. Tony Hampton” podcast about biochemistry and the principles of the carnivore diet.

They discuss Blaise’s personal experience, references to research (including the Harvard carnivore/animal-based study), and topics such as glycation, dietary fiber, cholesterol, and other mechanisms from a biochemical perspective.

Educational and thought provoking channel, you will learn things which you never learned, or were taught before.

My goal is to help young men, and women, improve their lives by understanding how the world actually works, and helping them understand what I believe to be the most crucial and essential things in order to live a life of happiness and fullfillment. Understanding the concepts and topics which my channel covers is essential for this, as I believe life makes most people lost, confused, and even sometimes resentful.

Education

Blaise began his higher-education journey in the Netherlands studying Chemical Engineering, where he worked in Nobel Prize winner Ben Feringa’s laboratory. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was forced to stop his studies and return to the United States. He later restarted his education at the University of California, where he graduated with a degree in Molecular Biology.
